About us and our programme

Adventure Kindergarten in Whitby offers your children amazing experiences, fun, learning and friendships.

Our community is supportive, and we enjoy warm and respectful relationships with children and whānau.

Values such as whanaungatanga (relationships, close connections) and manaakitanga (kindness) are practiced here, so that tamariki and whānau have a strong sense of belonging.

We learn about the Treaty of Waitangi, and the cultures of both treaty partners as well as other cultures in our community. We offer kapa haka and te reo Māori, learning through song dance and games.

Our kindergarten has a spacious outdoor environment. We use our garden to learn about growing, cooking, recycling, and sharing produce with our community.

Our philosophy reflects Te Whāriki, our curriculum, so children can become 'competent and confident learners and communicators'.

Mā te whiritahi, ka whakatutuki ai ngā pūmanawa ā tāngata - together weaving the realisation of potential.
